General Course Description: The purpose of this workshop is to prepare customer contact employees to effectively identify applications and recommend the appropriate broadband solution. The course will focus on selling broadband solutions and will present the technology concepts and characteristics within the context of customer applications and using broadband services to solve customer business problems. The target audience is customer contact employees responsible for selling broadband services to residential and small / medium sized business customers. Course Objective: Attendees will be expected to have basic understanding of telephony. Participants who complete this course will be able to: · Explain applications selling as related to business problem solving. · Use basic data gathering techniques to map information flows in a business. · Define broadband service terms. · Match the correct broadband service given a set of service criteria. · List the major considerations that can impact broadband service applicability. · Recognize broadband advantages and disadvantages over competing technologies. · Recognize an application for broadband service when given a customer business situation. · Accurately price broadband service solutions. · Prepare a business cost-justified recommendation for broadband service. · Present a business cost-justified recommendation for broadband service. Instructional Media: This is a facilitator-led workshop that includes interactive lecture, individual and team activities and business case studies that appeal to all learning styles. This workshop will prepare the students to continue their professional development through on going and self-directed learning outside of the classroom. The course is designed for a maximum of 20 attendees per session. Mastery will be determined based on solution development and presentation in a final case study exercise. Course Customizations: This course can be tailored to meet local needs. Customization might include references to an individual company's specific products and services, including their product names and pricing strategies. In addition, the course can be modified for a mixed audience consisting of attendees from different organizations within the company, both sales people and non-sales people. Customization fees will depend on the type and extent of the customization request.
